      • A list of materials and supplies, if required, will be posted on this page or, if needed, will be sent to you in a self-addressed stamped envelope, if you include one with your registration check.  If the workshop is filled, you will be put on a waiting list and your check will not be deposited until you are accepted for the workshop.
      • For online Zoom workshops, you will receive a unique invitation that may only be used by you and can’t be shared to connect to the Zoom session for the workshop.
      • In person workshops are held at Delmar Reformed Church  386 Delaware Ave., Delmar, NY 12054  Printed Directions 
    • The cost of a workshop may be reduced if we get a lot of participants.  We generally need a minimum of 10 participants to hold a workshop.  Refunds will be made if class is canceled by the guild.
    • The online registration payment page will give you the option to pay on-line (with an additional service fee), or to write a check and mail it.
    • For all day classes, most people bring their lunch or run out and bring something back.  Lunch is usually about 30 minutes.
    • Guild will provide several ironing boards and irons, several cutting boards and some basic straight rulers (but not necessarily rotary cutters), at least half a table, and a chair.

 

Refunds for cancellations will only be made if your place can be filled from a waiting list or you can find a substitute.  Workshop and waiting list policies are in the Q.U.I.L.T., Inc.’s Members Guide.

April 9, 2026  – Trip to AQS Show in Hartford, CT in lieu of workshop

Whole-day excursion

The Workshop and Program Committee is excited to announce that in lieu of a workshop in April of next year, we have reserved a charter bus from Yankee Trails to bring 56 passengers to Hartford, CT, to enjoy the AQS Quilt Show.

The cost will be $36 per person for transportation only, and which includes a gratuity for the driver. Payment can be made at any time before January 15, 2026 for the transportation portion of the trip.

Cost of admission to the show will be determined by group sales (probably around $12 per person but final price to be determined closer to the event). 

Reservations are currently being taken for members only and on a first come first serve basis.  If seats are available, we will open it up to ‘guests’ of our members and then to other quilt groups in the area.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Pickup at Crossgates Mall at 7:30 a.m.
  • Arrival at approximately 9:50 a.m.
  • Departure from Ct at 4:30 p.m.
  • Arrive back in Albany at 6:45 p.m.

October 9, 2025 – Floral Wreaths with the Fuse, Fold & Stitch Method
with Connie Trigger
In-Person  LIMIT 16 People
Half-day workshop (9:30am-12:30pm) In her half day class learn to make the 12 X 12 center of a floral wreath wall hanging with the Dina Pappas’s Fuse, Fold and Stitch method.  Upon arrival at the workshop, participants will choose from a selection of floral fabrics in required, included kits. The kits will also include interfacing and guides to fabric placement.  We will create the wreath portion of the wall hanging in class and talk about fabric choices, ways to complete the project with borders and quilting or tying, etc., on your own.

 

Supply List/Prep: Attendees will need to bring their sewing machine, thread, scissors, rotary cutter.  Instructor will provide a kit for each student. Students must provide their own backing fabric.

November 13, 2025  – Block Party – Quilts of Valor 

In-Person

A full day workshop on Thursday, November 13, 20025 which will run 9:30-3:30. Feel free to bring a lunch.  We will be making Disappearing Nine Patch blocks to then put into a Quilt of Valor to donate. Very easy block to put together and we are bringing pre-cut 4&1/2 inch blocks if you don’t have red, white, blue or military themed fabric at home.

January 9, 2026 – (Simple blocks on point) with Julie-Ann Fortran

In Person- LIMIT 24 Students

Partial-day workshop (11am-3:30 pm, bring a lunch)

This is a fun way to make a quilt or wall hanging from a 10” layer cake or a 5” charm pack. A mini 2 ½” charm pack will also work, but your piece will be very small.

Students will be shown two different layouts. The wall hanging was made with a very specific layout while the quilt was laid out randomly.

Supply List/Prep:

Students need to bring a layer cake or charm pack, or 40 10” or 5” squares in addition to their sewing machine, rotary cutter, thread, pins and all the sewing essentials. Please bring your longest ruler to class as well.
